Auntie Chickie

Another older post..this is about my wonderful Aunt we lost a year ago Christmas..also a book club member

Auntie Chickie

Your our rock of Gibraltar
the one we all choose
you worry and nurture
and relay our good news

You help to solve problems
and lend us your ear
to listen to grousing
and allay all our fears

You help take the place
of those loved ones who've gone
to help keep us centered
and form a real bond

Not just with each other
although that's so great
to have found again cousins
before it's too late

To share all experiences
to remember fun things
from Grammy's great cooking
to which one's of us sing

Your the dearest of people
the best of the bunch
the kindest and nicest
and I have a hunch

We will need you forever
so please never roam
we trust you and love you
our treasure our own

Oh do (don’t) stop, you are making me cry – but in a good way. Did you write this poem also, Maunie?! So touching, elegant.

Hi Jeane Michelle,
Yes, I wrote the poem for her eighteth birthday....thank you so much for your wonderful praise not
deserved but much appreciated...
Auntie lived to be eighty eight, and died on Christmas day two years ago...she truly was the light of our life...
